กรมสรรพากรเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุม SGATAR ประจำปี ครั้งที่ ๕๒ ระหว่างวันที่ ๓๑ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๖ ถึงวันที่ ๒ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๖ (๓)
การประชุม SGATAR ประจำปี ครั้งที่ ๕๒ ปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๖ (ค.ศ. ๒๐๒๓) ณ จังหวัดภูเก็ต
คณะรัฐมนตรีได้มีมติเมื่อวันที่ ๑ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๕ เห็นชอบในหลักการให้กรมสรรพากรเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุม SGATAR ประจำปี ครั้งที่ ๕๒ ในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๖ (ค.ศ. ๒๐๒๓) ณ จังหวัดภูเก็ต ต่อจากการประชุม SGATAR ประจำปี ครั้งที่ ๕๑ ปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๕ (ค.ศ. ๒๐๒๒) ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ มาเลเซียซึ่งมาเลเซียเป็นเจ้าภาพ
ในการประชุม SGATAR ประจำปี ครั้งที่ ๕๒ นี้ไทยจะได้ทำหน้าที่ประธานต่อจากมาเลเซียด้วย
การประชุม SGATAR ประจำปีประกอบด้วยการประชุมใหญ่ การประชุมหัวหน้าคณะผู้แทนการประชุมเจ้าหน้าที่ปฏิบัติงาน การบรรยายของผู้แทนองค์การระหว่างประเทศ รวมทั้งกิจกรรมทางสังคม
การประชุม SGATAR ประจำปี ครั้งที่ ๕๒ นี้มีผู้เข้าร่วมประชุมจากสมาชิกทุกเขตเศรษฐกิจรวม ๑๘ เขตเศรษฐกิจ ผู้สังเกตการณ์การประชุมจากองค์การระหว่างประเทศ ๑๑ องค์การ และคณะทำงานจัดการประชุมจากกรมสรรพากรรวมกันกว่า ๒๐๐ คน
จังหวัดภูเก็ต: ไข่มุกอันดามัน
จังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นเกาะในทะเลอันดามัน มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ ๕๔๓ ตารางกิโลเมตร เล็กที่สุดเป็นอันดับ ๒ ของประเทศ แต่เป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวอันดับต้น ๆ ของโลก
ภูเก็ตมีประวัติความเป็นมายาวนานตั้งแต่ยุคก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ มีวัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลาย มีสถาปัตยกรรมที่โดดเด่น โดยเฉพาะสถาปัตยกรรมชิโน-ยูโรเปียนในย่านเมืองเก่า มีทิวทัศน์ที่งดงาม รวมทั้งมีวิสัยทัศน์ที่จะมีการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน นอกจากนั้น UNESCO ยังได้ประกาศให้ภูเก็ตเป็นเมืองแห่งวิทยาการอาหาร (City of Gastronomy)
ด้วยเหตุดังกล่าว กรมสรรพากรได้เลือกจังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นสถานที่จัดการประชุม SGATAR ประจำปี ครั้งที่ ๕๒ โดยคาดหวังว่า ผู้เข้าร่วมประชุมจากทุกเขตเศรษฐกิจจะเล็งเห็นความพร้อมของภูเก็ตและไทยในการเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางของการจัดงานไมซ์ระดับโลกตามนโยบายส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมไมซ์ของรัฐบาล

The 52nd SGATAR Annual Meeting in 2023 in Phuket
On 1st November 2022, the Cabinet of Thailand passed a resolution approving the Revenue Department as the host for the 52nd SGATAR Annual Meeting in 2023. The meeting will take place in Phuket, Thailand, following the 51st SGATAR Annual Meeting in 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia hosted by Malaysia.
In the 52nd SGATAR Annual Meeting, Thailand will become the Chair of SGATAR following Malaysia.
The SGATAR Annual Meeting will include plenary sessions, head of delegation forum, working group sessions, presentations by international organisations, as well as social activities.
The 52nd SGATAR Annual Meeting will be attended by delegates from all 18 members, observers from 11 international organisations, and meeting management teams from the Revenue Department, totalling over 200 people.

Phuket is an island in the Andaman Sea, covering approximately 543 square kilometers. It is the second-smallest province in Thailand but ranks among the top tourist destinations globally.
Phuket has a rich historical background dating back to prehistoric times. It boasts diverse cultures and outstanding architectures, particularly Sino-European architecture in the Old Town area. The province offers breathtaking landscapes and has a sustainable development vision. Moreover, UNESCO has designated Phuket as a City of Gastronomy.
Considering these factors, the Revenue Department has chosen Phuket as the location for hosting the 52nd SGATAR Annual Meeting, with the expectation that participants from all jurisdictions will recognise Phuket and Thailand's readiness to be the world’s leading MICE destinations, in line with the government's policy to promote Thailand’s MICE industry.
